I would rather have a spouse, that does what she really wants to do rather than what I want her to do. My wife works, and she wants to. when we first married she thought i wanted her to stay at home. I told her, do what you truly wanted to do. She chose work and has a great career, we take care of home together.

Well we both have careers but my husband and I have had similar conversations in the past and I can confidently answer that he would rather have me work while he stays at home and takes care of the house. Although something tells me a putting green would magically appear in our backyard if that happened.

You will get different answers depending on who you ask this question to. Some men are very traditional and would prefer their wives to stay home.
Men who has more self esteem in themselves usually tend to allow their women to do whatever she wants (whether to stay at home or work full-time).
Nowadays, many of the women do work full-time so the family can have duel incomes. If you're living in the bay area (San Francisco, CA), you'll find out more women are in fact working full-time.

My wife never worked much. She has had part time jobs over the years but ater a while she quits and just stays home . I earn enough for us so she doesn't have to work. I like her at home because then she is always there when I want her. She doesn't really like working anyway. I like it because she has no excuse for denying me my desires. And she's okay with that.

Have a job. Without two incomes you cannot afford the house.
