I recently got divorced and remarried. My ex-husband who has been with me and my daughter since she was 4yrs old and a great father to her, refuses now to spend time with her at the request of his new wife. My daughter is now 14 and is hurting very badly. What should I do in this situation. She really loves her stepfather and calls him dad.

The new wife might feel threatened that you are using your daughter as an excuse to stay in his life. Has your daughter tried calling him directly? Maybe if he hears from her that she wants to see him, he might try to make the time.

that's really sad, if i were you i would some how contact him your self and tell him that what he is doing is really hurting her, and that she in her heart thinks of him as her dad. if that don't work then i think i would be telling the new girlfriend a thing or two. other than that there's is not much you can do. but may i say if things don't work out with him and this girlfriend of his and then he decides he wants to see your daughter i would be telling him right where to go.how is the relationship between her and the new husband? if it is not going well, please try to understand where she is coming from. she is feeling abandoned by her real dad and her step dad, so it may take a while for her to warm up to the new husband. make sure he understands that as well.

This is a bad and sad situation. He was just playing the role obviously. To be able to just disown her like that because of the new wife is ridiculous and goes to show you really never know someone. He is a loser. She may need therapy. Make sure you tell her its not her fault and shower her with love.

Ask your daughter to write to him letter telling him how much she misses him. Letter should be without blaming him just telling what is she doing and that she still loves him. Maybe his feeling will prevail despite his present wife wishes. Good luck for!

He is her step father you can't force him to spend time with a girl he is not related to. He has moved on and is married to someone else. She's just going to have to deal with the hurt. Life isn't always fair.

I was in a similar situation, but it was my kids real father. I spoke with his new girlfriend at the time and come to find out it was him all along and not her. We both confronted him with this and he didn't have anything to say.It didn't change the out come as he didn't have much of anything to do with the kids, but it put the blame where it belonged. Good luck.

I'm sorry sweetie.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do because your ex-husband has no heart and no balls to stand to his new wife.

My heart goes to you and your daughter.

Good luck

Don't let him see her at all and DON'T PUSH IT. Let him make up him mind. And if he doesn't came back find her a new one.
