The majority of her time is spent in Buckingham Palace, London, since that is where her office and administration centre is situated. However, she has so many other places from which to choose - for example Windsor Castle, which apparently she quite likes (wouldn't you?!), and at Christmas you might have to travel to Scotland to another of her residences, Balmoral, in order to see her. And in the summer she will often take a vacation in the county of Norfolk, on the eastern side of England, where she has yet another stately home called Sandringham. You can purchase tickets to visit parts of Buckingham Palace (check this with your travel company since the Palace only opens for a few weeks a year). Incidentally, when you visit London you'll be able to tell if the Queen is 'at home' because the Royal Standard will be flying over the front of Buckingham Palace.

Christmas and New Year are spent at Sandringham House in Norfolk. Balmoral Castle in Scotland is a retreat. The main residence is Windsor Castle, and Buckingham Palace in London is used at varying times throughout the year to coincide with State events, etc. The Royal Standard is flown whenever the Queen is in residence, or on a ship, aircraft, or car she may be travelling in. The Union Flag can be flown when the Queen is not resident. You can visit Buckingham Palace - not much to see, Windsor Castle - lots to see!, and Sandringham House at varying times throughout the year when the Queen isn't at home.

Take your pick - Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Balmoral.
You can have a tour of Buckingham Palace - but you won't get to see anything that interesting. Just big rooms with lots of pictures etc.
Hampton Court is a wonderful place to visit - the home of Henry VIII - has the most famous maze in the world.

Her main place of residence is Buckingham Palace in London. In the summer they normally do tours but that normally doesn't happen in the winter. She also has many other official residences around the UK. Technically she owns every inch of land here and can live anywhere she wants.
