No, it is a C average. There's no rounding for GPAs.

I think it's more like C+ because you'd have to have at least a 3.0 to be a B- average. If you are only supposed to round to the tenths place, then yes it's 3.0, but if you have to go to the hundredths place, that leaves you with 2.95. I'm not sure about rounding though, and if you're supposed to or not. I don't know when you'd have to round though, I think most colleges look at your GPA up to the second decimal place like 2.95, not 3.0 or 2.9.

That is a C+, as it has to be at least 3.0 to be a B. You cannot round up the GPA, so it is still a C+.
You have to work just a little harder to get your coveted B.

All University use the same scale and anything above 2.7 is a B in letter grade. A 2.95 is not a C.

In my school it'd be considered a C+. We use pluses [not minuses]. Don't fret a 2.95 isn't that bad, you just got to work a little harder. I remember my GPA would've been higher if it weren't for some lousy teacher... Just remember its not always your fault.

Here is the GPA/Grade calculator for my school:
A 4.0
A- 3.7
B+ 3.3
B 3.0
B- 2.7
C+ 2.3
C 2.0
It might depend on your school, but I'm pretty sure all universities use this similar system. I don't know what the other ppl are talking about because the system for a UNIVERSITY has always been like this. Perhaps they are referring to the high school system, which is different.
