i just wanna know what people think, suppose the US falls and China becomes the next superpower, would we better off?

china has only been involved in the korean war, the US is at wat all the time, the US vetoed more UN resolutions tnan China or the Soviet union. The US emissions into the atmosphere are greater than all of asia (Al gore), their cars have the lowest milage, yet they do nothing about it, while the chineese are investing more in technology to reduce emissions.

personally i think the Chineese population cares more about their politics, and world affiars, while the average american, didnt even know what shiite or sunni was until the civil war broke out. Americas education is plummeting, their youth know very little about whats going on in the world.

tell me what yall think

i didnt mean the best institutions, i meant the whole student population, care to tell me what % of US student popuation get into Yale or Harvard. And by the way chinas literacy rate is 95%, and more of their highschool graduates go on to higher studies.

and by al gore i meant "an inconvenient truth", (hey the guy devoted his life 2 global warming, so something he said has to be right).

and shure America might be good 4 the West, but im talking about the WORLD, asia, middle east, africa.

its really not a matter of "if".. but of "when"..

Chinese is the new English. the united states has nothing to gain by a falling dollar (we don't make anything anymore) so a falling dollar only supports a minority base.. What is needed, is a paradigm shift in the way we look at energy. We led the world in industrialization, technology, lets use our technology to lead the world towards reparing the way we think of sustainable development.

Anyone who has ever travelled to China before can see clearly, the pace of thier development..

If we dont ramp up our moral inferastructure, we'll be world losers on the stage while other countries trade oil in Euros and shake their heads at us for centuries..

As for the last two posters.. You must come from that generation that used to believe everything their government told them.. Step away from the television and visit there.. Find out for yourself. You don't need democracy in order to thrive.. its been proven already.. and communism isn't the bad word the media has been portraying..

Theres good and bad from both sides, certainly, but the difference is who can accept and roll with the challenges from an ever change fast paced developing society. With the USAs balances on power, and with congress pretending to work each year a fraction of what the rest of us work, it wont be us.. China will have some losers, but in the end, they'll top us..

Well I can see how you could come to that conclusion but I don't think so.
China is not involved with others affairs as they don't want to be. They are not concerned with any thing in the world if it does not affect them.
Also I don't know how old you are but look up about student demonstrations in China. And the laws they have made to prevent anyone from saying things they don't want to hear or for the people to be thinking about. Also I myself have 2 girls and if I wanted more I could have kept having kids. They can have 2 now but used to be only one.
As to education they don't have Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Berkley with students from all over the world considered the best and the brightest and wealthiest. And what about Chapel Hill or the College of Charleston. In the west you can keep going to school by choice but there you are kept from higher education if you are not really smart. We all know that some not so smart educated people can be very productive because of drive.
I think you are wrong.

GOOD, I say. Remember if you happen to occur to be within the Philippines or develop up within the Philippines which I don't feel either one of those is at gift to your function. Philippines and China have an excessively...very...very lengthy dating considering earlier than the Spaniards got here to the shore of the Philippines in 1521. Philippines has a Chinese neighborhood which helps the Filipinos considering the daybreak of time and each and every Chinese new yr which I feel you watch over the television the robust bond among the Philippines and China. The very popular one is in BINONDO field, which has the most important Chinese neighborhood within the Philippines. I actually develop up in those field of Divisoria marketplace even as my mom is operating in some of the shops. Hypothetically if CHINA could replica what JAPAN did in 1941 at present and made up our minds to invade the whole Southeast Asia, do you feel China will invade the Philippines? No is my possess end, why? to begin with China isn't the imperial Japanese navy which has a loyalty to their emperor within the 1930's. With the booming and the speedy progress of its navy China can certainly invade any nation it wishes. What they wish is the unification of Taiwan which till now could be regarded a adversarial province of China. Second, China as I mentioned has a long-lasting historical past of dating with the Philippines. If you're going to detect there are increasingly Chinese within the Philippines at present than wherever in our Philippines historical past they're investors, buyers and industry tycoons. They actually owned the Philippines. Third, if China will invade the Philippines, do you feel our whole AFP or our army would is ample to quit a huge navy and army of China? I don't feel so. Remember the PEARL HARBOR in 1941 after the Japanese bomb HAWAII at 7 am early morning, they continue to release the assault at the Philippines and at 12 midday lunch time they're already at Manila. Today with out the support of the US marine and army, China can conveniently slip within the Philippines conveniently. If China will release an assault at 7 am crack of dawn, through stroke of 10 am the whole Philippines is already within the HANDS OF THE CHINESE NAVY and ARMY. China was once predicted to have a million million navy in 1973, that was once greater than 30 or extra years in the past. Imagine that at present. And with the delicate guns and apparatus they have got at present in opposition to our AFP weapons and ammunition which they inherited after WW2 what probabilities do we've in opposition to the whole Chinese navy? We can be slaughtered like a pig or a lamb within the dinner desk. In 1941 we're nonetheless a aspect of the US contigency navy within the Far East but we're over run through the Japanese navy how a lot more at present that we're status by myself and with out the support coming from the US we're a sitting duck with any nation so that it will attempt to invade the Philippines.

You really need to look more into where you're getting your sources. Al Gore?

Are we really that lazy as a country that despite being the worlds most powerful country, we want China to take over?

No. Look at how China treats its own people. If you disagree with the Communist government, you get sent to the Gulag.
