I would definitely tell the manager on duty and get a refund and take my business somewhere else. I have done this a couple of times when I found food establishments that were unsanitary and not keeping up on health codes. Always be careful where you go eat and always search food restaurant reviews about places before you go there, because you don't want to get sick or walk into a dirty establishment! You can always contact your local health department to get information about business licenses and health and comfort inspections ... but, is that really necessary!?? LOL

It's not wrong. In fact you are doing the public a favor. If you see it, report it. If you don't like what you see, then don't accept it. You are paying the dollars you are for a reason and that includes making sure the food they serve you is safe.
Most people in the restaurant business don't wash their hands like they are suppose to because it is a matter of inconveniences to them. They are not the one who is going to eat what they are about to serve you.
Keep yourself and the rest of us healthy by always reporting what you feel is unsanitary. The manager depends on your eyes and ears to keep them out of a lawsuit.

No it is not wrong to point it out! Scratching his head is quite mild in the scheme of things. How about him scratching his nose, mouth, or ear, don't even think of what happens when you can't see! Apart from the obvious - how about wiping tables, counters, floors, windows, in fact virtually everything with the same cloth! I walked out of that place before even sitting down!!

I think it is fine to point it out. Food born illnesses are mostly caused by poor hygiene from people!!!! It can be a serious problem for people with poor immune systems!! I took a food bacteriology class and eating out sorta makes me nauseated

No, but don't get the poor kid fired. Just mention to the manager that he needs to review his sanitation guidelines with his staff and don't point out who did it but you can say: "things like scratching your head and making someone's food is very undesirable"
