It's so aggravating. I'm black as hell lol. I wear Timberlands and Air Force Ones, and no make up whatsoever. My hair is long so there's no need for me to wear weave. I listen to everything from Lil Kim to My Chemical Romance to Britney Spears. And people say I'm not really black.

Because you're not conforming to the stereotype. My husband got the same kind of crap from his family.

Don't let it bother you. You just be you!

Since some of my black brothers, the not so hip, call me a wigger, because I like black women & soul music, rock music, no rap sorry. I guess that would make you a nitey since you appear to be my opposite. I myself would probably think of you as either a cool human being or a jerk because they come in all sexes & colors. Just be yourself & the world will become a better place; never care what others think. By the way all of my friends no matter what race color or creed like the same things i do & that's probably why we get along so well.

Where do you live? Where I live most girls where the crap out of Aeropostale. And just because you like hate weave doesn't make you crazy...Matter of fact, I don't use it either. Besides, i don't need to. Listen to what you want to! I listen to a lot of stuff but even I don't do rock. LOL

I used to worry about the same thing but I don't let other people's idea of what a black woman should be like bother me anymore. I listen to all genres of music, dress in all styles of clothes, and have friends of many different races. My brother and stepbrother used to give me hell for listening to Garbage, Bjork, and Tori Amos and I cried a LOT in the past over that. Not anymore. I'm proud that I'm so diverse and anyone that has a problem with that isn't worth my time or yours. Happy Holidays!

It is because people want to think they are normal by calling other people "crazy" because they do not follow the trend or just want to be whatever the hell they want without giving a crap about anyone else.

I know what you mean, I'm Black, Puerto Rican and Cuban. I like all types of music. All that I can say is stay the way you are. Don't change for no one. Those people that ridicule you are just not worth your time.

Pretty much what everyone else said, it's full of stereotypes. It's just who you are. My man gets **** because he is very well spoken, and he gets offended that people call him white because he's definitely not and he is very proud of his black culture and history. He says they're trying to take his "hood card" away. I get crap cause i'm with him, i'm white, and i wear cornrows sometimes and listen to hip-hop. I'm just the opposite of you. Just be yourself girl! Feel free to hit me up on IM or email!

Just be yourself, why are you so worried about what other people think. Maybe you should find some new friends. People usually hang around with people they have things in common.

...But yet there are tons of white people that listen to rap and wear South Pole? Isn't it weird that we accept them but they look down on you?

As long as you're being true to yourself, don't let anyone push you into any pigeonhole that you don't fit into.

There's nothing wrong with you, they're the ones that are crazy and horribly intolerant.

I'm 3/4 black, but I look white, and I like Aero too (just not rock) and I hate weave.
Let them think you're crazy. Just say to them 'You're being racist. Black people can like anything they want'
