I think you are as far off base as you could be. Karl Marx used violence and intimidation to force people to share with those who he felt were worthy. Jesus on the other hand hated violence and was all about free will. Socialism is compulsion God works by freedom.

Marx said "religion is the opiate of the people" so he'd probably not find common cause with Jesus.
Was Jesus a "socialist"? Hard to say. He once said "render onto Ceaser, etc."

Jesus would not have enjoyed the socialist experience at all. he would see that it did nothing for the moral fiber of the person, it deadened the soul, and created bad work ethics. It also took God out of the equation. Jesus would have had a real problem with that one. Try again.......

I don't think that Jesus much cared for politics. I think that is why Jewish leaders were not eager to accept him. I believe He wants us to live for the benefit of others but does not see the need for the government to back Him.
I don't really believe that God intended for man to govern man at any rate. Look how reluctant He was to make Saul King.
Jesus was very concerned with the reformation of people individually though and we would live our lives for the benefit of all. I don't believe that He intended for it to be forced on us through government. It is our individual choice.

Socialist, yes. Marxist, hell no.
Marx saw religion as a tool of oppresion (and trust me, Marx knew a lot about how to oppress people).
Jesus saw religion as a means of communication with God.
Jesus would work to end poverty without destroying people's ideological freedom.

Do you think Jesus would have murdered 70 million innocent people like the Socialist Mao did?
Get a clue.

The Hippies during the sixties tried to turn Jesus into a Commie.
Maybe you can carry on their agenda.

I'd say he was a Socialist. He was also disliked by the conservative religious leaders of his time. Much like Socialists today.
