I would tell her. It is better to put things on the table and deal with them than not say them at all. Maybe its not too late an the friendship can be saved. My friend and I went through the same thing, and I wrote her letter and we talked it through and the friendship remains. Just be honest and open

i kind of have the same problem. My best friend and i live in a different town. She goes out and parties all the time and has no control over her own life. I'm married and have a baby and can no longer do those kind of things. she was also married but divorced were both 22. Her boyfriend is coming in between our friendship. She has become a completley different person and i can no longer talk to her so i just forgot all about it and started making my own friends. I mean if she cant be there for me when i really need her then i really dont need her that bad. I'm still here for her if she ever has time to talk but i'm not going to sit around anymore upset because she cant find the time to talk to me or listen to my problems. I have found better friends ones that have things in common with my life now. I still love my best friend but were just so different now and it just dont work. My advice to you is find some different friends. dont forget about her and be there for her when she needs you but you need to find someone else to hang out with and do things with. She will eventually see what the problem is and the problem is her. move on sweety.

Some do not know how 'friendship' is enacted. We sorta define it as we grow. You will probably have to step back and just let this run it's course but welcome her anytime without 'I told you so'. When she returns to visit you... let her just vent. If it's years and you don't have the same time.. suggest a date to getogether.

Yes, move on but not forgotten. Be friendly but do move on. She may need you sooner than you think. ..or it may be years. Send her a card someday. Keep watch but don't interfer. Some things just must run their course but don't contribute to bad stories or feel abandoned. Sometimes we can't see the course we are on until we by chance stop. good luck. I'd like a friend like you.

I've been through this w/ 2 of my best friends. one girl got into drugs for about a year. i gave her the cold shoulder every day. she kept asking me to go 2 lunch with her, like we used to, i told her once she stops getting high, we can be friends again. well her little druggie friends blew her off, and she later realized that i was right all along. you have to be very honest with your friend, that is why you are friends. if she cant rely on you to tell her the truth, who can she rely on? having a best friend is like having a boyfriend. you will get into fights and break up, but soon someone will realize that they messed up and come back.

well if she's not your friend anymore than you don't have to worry about it being weird when you hang out with her so just tell her and get it off your chest and get new friends, don't let her new personality overcome yours. So go make some nice new friends that you deserve.
