honey... just try to relax... Everyone feels the same way you are their first few times. If you want, your mom can be in the room with you (if you feel more comfortable that way) and you will have a nurse in with you... just try not to think about it.. and don't loOK at the doctor while he/she is doing it.. that just makes it more nerve wracking. Tell them about your anxieties.. and they should be able to calm you... But its worth it! Just to be sure you are ok...
Its not really painful.. but uncomfortable.. and the thing they use can be cold... but you will be ok! Remember, us women are strong!!!
Good luck!

You're lucky that your mom takes care of you. Don't consider it to be "force". There is no reason to be scared of a gyno. My mom took me to one when I was 14 too. He was a jerk, but they are mostly OK and they try not to hurt you. I'm 45 now. Actually, unless the doc is installing an IUD (not for kids), the visit doesn't cause pain, it is just uncomfortable. You'll have to put your legs up and they use a metal thing to open your vagina enough to look inside. If the doc is nice, the metal thing will be warmed up and he/she will insert it slowly. Since you're a kid, the doc will ask about your sexual practices. Be honest unless he or she seems to be judging you - in that case, get your perscription for birth control and get out. If he or she is cool, tell them about everything and ask all of the questions that you have. A good gyno is a rare and valuable find. Don't be scared - you really need to go if you are having an unusual discharge. Good luck!

A good physician will understand your anxities and take the time to explain everything to you -- not just to your mom. Have them explain what they are going to do prior to starting the examination. Ask questions! You may feel some discomfort during the examination, but it's best to go thru that rather than find out 10 years from now that you have a medical condition that could have been nipped in the bud had you been examined earlier. From experience, there's less discomfort when a GYN does the exam rather than a primary care doctor.

First, there is no need to be afraid. I remember feeling nervous before my first visit too.
The doctor will ask you some questions and probably do a breast examination, just to be sure there isn't any lumps.
The actual "female" exam doesn't take long. The tool he uses is usally cold and maybe a little uncomfortable, but not painful at all.
Sounds like your discharge could be a yeast infection, which is very common with most women. He will give you an antibotic and tell you what steps to take to prevent it in the future.

To be honest, its not that bad. It doesn't hurt, you'll just feel slight pressure around yours pelvis. A normal examine goes as follows, you'll have to undress and wear a silly gown that is open in the front, they'll have you sit on the checkup bed and lay back . Your feet will have to go into these holders, just so your Doctor can see what they are doing. Next he'll tell you you are going tofeel slight pressure while he examines you and boom its done. It takes like five to ten minutes and if you want you can have your mom hold your hand. That's what mine did when I went.
Don't feel nervous it just apart of becoming a healthy and beautiful women.

It's not that bad sweetie, and if you have an unexplained discharge then you need to make sure there's no problem. When you become sexually active you'll need to go every year anyway...
It's a bit uncomfortable, but not painful, s/he does a pelvic exam. Your mom can be in the room with you for moral support.
You'll get to the point in a few years, where you'll chit-chat with your doc while it's going on, because it will be such a routine thing.

Cervical cancer is a reality out there, please go and mothers do worry. If your Mother did not care than she would not try and make you go to your appointment. Trust a mother's instincts, they may end up giving you a pap smear possibly.
A childhood friend of mine ended up cervical cancer but luckily everthing did go fine in end - she defeated cervical cancer. I was at a dangerious route heading there too and I mean it was scary. I had bad hot flashes the day they killed those dangerious cancerious causing cells. I am not trying to scare you but it is a warning that it is possible. Go before it is too late for the Gyne to do anything.

oh hon, don't worry about it. it is not as bad as you fear. i was very scared as well but the doctor was very nice, calming and gentle. it was only very SLIGHTLY uncomfortable. i tried my best to relax my muscles and i think this helped. u need to have the discharge looked at. u may have an infection and only a gyno can properly diagnose this. BE BRAVE. your mom is right. good luck!!!

The doctor will explain what will happen, and you won't be alone in the room.
Don't worry-it doesn't change your body but if you have a strange discharge you do need to find out what it is, rather than have it get worse.
