besides all that was said by nostradamus and many other ancient people and cultures. what i dont get what they try to argue. (remember y2k)
THE WRATH OF GOD....... (they often say it after a natural disaster like the tsunami in indonesia, after a big earthquake, the war in israel)

wtf is that?? tsunamis and earthquake have been going on ever since the earth was formed a few billion years ago. difference is, back then idiots, the human race didnt exist. 1000 years ago the earths population was not even close to half of its population today.
so if there was a natural disaster the deaths would be much less.

israel/palestine conflict - war in iraq - civil wars in africa: wars have been going on ever since the dawn of civilization, just look at a history book and youll see that each period of history of a certain civilization is marked by a war or a military conflict. i mean if you look at an american history book you will see.
revolution - civil war - world war 1 and 2. and so on.

Dude, there is no tangible reason.

As Christians, we just feel like the end is near. I believe the end will occur in my lifetime. So did the apostles. It's supernatural and I think God did that so we would be more inclined to witness to others.

There are verses in the bible that talk of the beginnings of birth pains, earthquakes, wars, etc., as you mention, but like you point out, those things are ever-present. They will be worst right before the end, but we won't be able to define when worst was until we're looking back at it.

Personally, I think it can get worse.

Most religions predict an end time of some sort. According to the Book of Daniel it happened in 1844 AD, about 160 years ago, which coincides exactly with the Declaration of the Bab. This also correlates with Muslim prophecies.

The end of the world, of course, means the coming of a new Manifestation of God, a new Message from God to humanity. The Manifestation of God for today is Baha'u'llah.

My own thinking on the matter is that each of us is a "world made cunningly" in John Donne's phrase. All we know of life is encompassed in that world. We know, each of us, that we are going to die. When we do, the entire "world" that we know dies with us.

well, people have been saying this since the beginning of time. maybe it is soon, maybe not. depends on whose definition of "soon" we're using. why worry about it, though? i agree we should not. who can change it?
