They are biased because most journalists are liberals.

Liberals tend to be idealists who want to change the world, so they go into journalism to do that. Never mind that that's not what journalism is supposed to do. The goal of journalism is to inform the public, not change the world.

Several years ago, a Pew poll surveyed reporters. Many identified themselves as liberals or democrats, while only a few identified themselves as conservatives or Republicans. I imagine once you filter out the Business section reporters, that number gets even more lopsided.

They don't intentionally try to be bias, but their beliefs creep in all the time.

Sounds like the beginning of your problem lies in watching Fox News. Expand your knowledge outside of Fox News and you will be amazed at what you will learn.

From your question, I can deduce that you have not read the new Time Magazine and the only reason you are ticked off is because some talking head on Fox News told you to be. Now you know that the only bias you hear from the media comes form the only media you get information from.

Remember when Bill O'Reilly said he would never trust this president again if WMD were not found in Iraq? There were none to be found, as admitted by this president, yet that is the only thing Bill O'Reilly apparently doesn't trust this president about.

The word you want is "biased".

And yes, most news sources have some sort of bias. The best advice is to get a variety of sources.

You don't always have to agree with what you are hearing, in fact, you will learn much more that way than by just reinforcing your own beliefs.

To get some variety I recommend a little Fox news, CNN, time Mag, The Nation mag, Mother Jones, the weekly standard. Keep it fresh and it will keep you fresh.

It is pitiful that you watch the news outlet that is nothing more than the Bush Administrations lap dog and you believe when they tell you the media is biased. FOX takes talking points from the White House that is biased. How can you tell if the news you are watching is biased? If you never disagree with the news you are watching then it is biased. Do you ever disagree with what you watch on FOX? I doubt you do because you do not want to put forth the effort to read and gather your own information; you want to be spoon fed by the people who believe Bush does no wrong. Time writes reports you both agree with and those that you do not, that is not biased that is Fair and Balanced.

Objectivity is an impossible ideal, so the media shouldn't even try. Everyone should remember that there are thousands of facts, so even if it's all true it will show a bias in the selection of which facts the media think are important.

The best news source I've found is The Economist. Yes, it sounds nerdy, but it gives the most unbiased and informed news.

Because most people are biased and they can only see things that reinforce their biases.

I think that U.S. News & World Report is more unbiased than Time.
