When I say "casual shoes" I am referring to something like Born, Merrell, or Doc Martens.

brown. they are the best with everything! if you have a black shirt---black shoes! everything else BROWN!!!! lol

Brown with both. Unless the Jean or khakis are light and then Black looks better. Take a look at the thread on the jeans, try and work with that. If the thread is a brown, or tan, go brown. If the thread is blue, white, or black, go black. That usually indicates the wash of the jeans and should help match colors.

Since they are both primary colors: brown especially with kaki. It almost looks off if someone wears brown and black together.

either, depends more on the top that I am wearing with it. i do tend to wear brown with khaki and black with jeans.
