Yes you can but you need a special USB cable. You would be better off using the ethernet port on both computers to transfer the files.

No. The USB communication is reserved for accesories that wish to communicate with your computer through a common interface. Accessories such as Ipods, CD-writers, Floppy-drives, mouse, keyboard not entire systems. In order to establish a connection to transfer files, you will need to network the 2 machines using the network interface. You can link them through twisted pair wires from one network card to the other machine's network card.

Yes you can but it is more harder and you need a USB Ethernet adapter and software.
The best way is threw a network hub. you could use a communication port but most computer don't have that anymore and its more difficult

i believe you can. i have never done this before, i always use a crossover eithernet cable. you may need some software, not sure, i'v seen these cables sold at wal mart

no this is not possible,
it could have been possible if your hard disk had a usb interface...
any ways this is something I desired as well.... bye
