I have a trust issue. I tend to be skeptical of people. Anyone who I've ever trusted has screwed me over. Recently, I've trusted someone and found out that she had a "falling out" with another friend because she told her mother that girl's secrets. Since I've found that out, I've been paranoid that she's gonna tell the whole world my secrets too. What can I do to trust people without hesitation?

You probably have a trust issue because you look for the times that people have been untrustworthy. What you look for is what you find. Try to see if there have been times when people have deserved trust, earned it and kept it. Perhaps it might be someone who has to do it, such as a minister, a lawyer or a doctor. I know there have been times when my trust has been violated, but I don't expect that from everyone. So, some people are trustworthy, and some aren't.

Pick and choose what you tell people; everyone needs a private life.
If that particular girl has a good mom she, I promise you, won't tell a soul what her daughter told her.
