Sometimes if a women's vaginal pH is off balance she can experience:

- an increase in vaginal discharge, often on the watery side accompanied by a fishy odor and sometimes vaginal burning.

This type of infection is called bacterial vaginosis or BV, and can be treated with prescription antibiotics.

Yeast infection is a common effect of having an unbalanced pH. You're better off not washing with soap down there as it can dirupt the pH balance. It's supposed to be slightly acidic, so rinsing with vinegar diluted in water can help restore it to normal, especially if you've used soap.

When I was younger I constantly had yeast infections. I finally went to a holistic doctor who told me I needed to clean up my diet. No dairy products. You need to take a probiotic in capsule form. Take 4-6 a day. Get the good kind from the health food store that they have refrigerated. Make sure you have a bowel movement every day. That's really important. Those system-wide yeast infections or ones that linger are having a field day in the yeast and bacteria. If you can do a colon cleanse to clear out all the stuff from your digestive tract. They make a powder you can get at the health food store. keep up with the garlic and if you can, cook with garlic or I chop it up and eat it raw in salads. Like a clove. If you wear a thong, stop. If you are sexually active that may be the cause. If you take birth control pills that also contributes to yeast. It's normal for women to have yeast because of our hormones. But when it gets out of control and turns into an infection that's not good.
