The Ravens and Colts have played 4 of the same teams. The Colts have a record of 3-1 against those teams. The Ravens are 2-2 against those teams.
By the way, it's "seed." That was a horrendous misspelling.

My guess is becuase the Ravens beat the Chargers in the first of the year and since the Chargers are number one the Ravens are number 2. The colts havent played either team head to head so thats why im guessing they are #3 (not #2). If all three have the same record at the end of the season then the Ravens will be #1 (for head to head win over SD) and then probably SD because they were #1 for a long time. Just a guess though. All I know is my Chargers Rock!!
Also on fox sports it has the playoff standings as of right now and this is how they are rated: (1) Chargers are 12-2 overall, 5-1 in their division, and 10-2 in conference, (2) Ravens 11-3 overall, 4-1 in division, and 8-2 in conference, and (3) Colts are 11-3 overall, 3-2 in division, and 8-2 in conference. So the Ravens and Colts are tied in overall and conference but the Ravens have a better record in their division so thats why they are ranked higher. (again guessing)

I think they look at record, then head to head games, then Conf record, then Division record.
record = 11-3 same
head to head games = none
conf record = 8-2 same
division record = 4-1(Bal) 3-2(Ind)
Bal slightly wins the edge

it all comes back to your division.
the colts are in the AFC South with the Jags, titans and texans since they won their division they automatically do to the playoffs. and they are probably better than baltimore because that have won more games in their division.
just go to NFL.com and surf the site.
you'll figure out a whole lot about football there

They have a worse record than the Chargers and if you compare points they out score their opponents by more than the Ravens.

the colts have a better record amongst mutual opponents. the colts beat the bengals and the broncos, and they both beat the ravens. the ravens have only beaten one team the colts have lost to: tennessee.

First tie breaker is head to head - they did not play.
Second tie breaker is conference play - they are tied
*Third (I think) is division record - BAL 4-1, IND 3-2
