No. Our current divorce rate has been caused by a great number of factors, one of which is that some marriages, despite great effort, do not work and are toxic for all involved including children.

As for your comments on the Bible . . . actually to your entire question . . . it sounds like you are trying to make a point rather than ask anyone anything. It sounds like YOU think that men ought to be the head of the household and that wives ought to submit to their husbands. Sure, it does say this in the Bible. It also says in there that I should be able to sell my daughter into slavery, so frankly, I don't pay it that much heed.

The bible was made up of passages written by MEN inturpreting God's word. Personally, when it comes to a women's role in the marriage I don't think following the bible word for word is the solution to end all divorce. I think today less women would consider marriage on those terms.

America is not a Christian nation. It's laws were based on British common law, which runs back all the way to the Romans. If you look at the statistics atheists have a lower divorce rate than Christians. Probably because they are smart enough to get to know someone and find out what they are really like before they get married and start having kids.

It is not all that simple. The Bible does charge women to submit to their husbands but there is a fail safe in that. Although, women must submit we as men are suppose to treat our wives as we would ourselves. Which means to love them as we love ourselves and not subject them to things we ourselves would not be willing to endure. To get the full meaning at times of a verse it is required of us to read the entire chapter. How can we get the true meaning of something if we only take a portion of it? Also take into account that our divorce rate has only to do with God due to the lack of it in most marriages. We say the vows but very few people hold true to them. We say through sickness and health, richer or poorer, but do we really mean it. Marriages are failling because of our lack of true love. Love means suffering. It is not perfection but the lack there of but despite the lack of perfection we still love that person. Love means to forgive because despite our sins God still forgives us. We must follow this example but we don't. We become consumed with things. That new car, fancy home, stylish clothes, and how sexy and beatiful we look. The man who holds the door open for you is of less value than the man that would not but he has a nice car and money or the girl with the nice body is more valuable than the other woman that would massage your aches but is average looking at best. These are the reasons marriages fail. SELFISHNESS!

No. Our divorce rate is due to people getting married too young, before they are ready to handle the pressure of marriage, wrong expectations of marriage, marrying for the wrong reason such as 1 sided love relationship, too indifferent, etc. God is already in the marriages but if one marries for the wrong reason, even God cant help save it. God will help save a marriage if its worth saving and both want it. God doesnt always answer all prayers, but expects some to work out their own problems. Good luck and Merry Christmas

Ummm no, there are many reasons why a marriage does not stay together.
As for people going to church keeping marriages together, you do not have to go to church to be religious. I know plenty of couples that are very into attending church, yet they have some of the most dysfunctional marriages out there.
Oh and lastly, the whole submitting to the man thing..... that is WAY outdated.

No. It is not lack of religion, but lack of love that causes divorces. IMO, you are trying to use the Bible to justify controlling your wife, which is NOT love. Begin by loving her just the way she is, without any demands that she change. Begin by respecting her wishes, her feelings, her ideas and accepting her totally and completely exactly as she is. Then see how much you can give her, rather than how much you can take from her. Multiply that by 10,000 and you will begin to have a concept of what true love is and how to stay married.

Not everyone believes in God /bible (me) I know couples who did put God first and they divorced. Bottomline - sh*t happens and you hang in there for as long as you can. I personally believe that NO ONE should stay together because some book says so. THAT book has no idea of the sh*t going on in this world TODAY...not to mention..I will be damned if I would allow the contents of a book written by whomEVER to dictate how I spend the rest of my life.
