Well, you can give Turbo Delphi a try. It is made by Borland itself, and avaiable for free on www.turboexplorer.com . You will also find Turbo C# and Turbo Cpp there, and even Turbo Delphi for .net.

Delphi is a progression platform, no longer a language. The language is Pascal. How stable? as stable as C++/Java/C#. there have been some exceptionally great, state-of-the-paintings courses written in it.
