I'm a social Conservative and I'm pro choice, to a point, and I'm anti Death Penalty. So what's that do to your idiotic theory, knucklehead?

I think that partial birth abortions are a travesty, but I don't have a problem with an early abortion.

I think the death penalty is a joke because you dopey liberals have turned it into something you'd do to put down a favored pet that got sick, instead of making it a deterrent to capital crimes,

Satan must be shivering right now because I agree with Shiraz, for once. I agree in the sense that I see no conflict in being anti-abortion and pro-death penalty. As it happens, I am opposed to the death penalty and also opposed to abortion except in cases of rape or as the only way to save the mother's life in a medical emergency.

As a conservative, i believe that no laws regarding abortion should be made by the government and I am against the death penalty because it costs more money to put someone to death, than it does to put them up for life. The real question here is What the he ll happened to conservatives? Dead and buried with Barry Goldwater

Neo-conservatives are against abortion.
Conservatives believe it is not the government's place to regulate it, whether they personally agree with it or not.

I believe what you are after, though, is this - babies are innocent, criminals are not. That is the belief system of those that oppose abortion and support the death penalty.

By the way, it doesn't make much sense on the other side of the fence either - many Democrats support abortion, but oppose the death penalty (kill babies, spare criminals).

How come conservatives can't count over 5 without using their fingers?

I am liberal and against abortion and against the death penalty.

I am against the death penalty because the government should not be allowed to decide who should live or die.

The death penalty is given to those guilty of heinous crimes performed as an adult. Abortion is giving the death penalty to an infant that is not guilty of anything.

Abortion that is committed to preserve a mother's life or health is reasonable. Aborting a fetus because the mother "isn't ready" to have kids is unreasonable. If you aren't ready to have kids, then don't have unprotected sex.

The death penalty has a reasonable cause behind the act. Most abortions are matters of convenience and avoidance of consequence for one's choices.

i am a democrat, who does not believe in abortion or the death penalty. i have often wondered about your question. it does seem a bit hypocritical. but, they'll just say an unborn child is innocent, as a criminal is not. so, that shows they value one life above another. once again it shows a deficit in rational thought.

Well a baby never raped or killed anyone. I can't understand how executing a criminal after a trail (and several appeals) is the same as murdering an unborn child who could not have done anything to anyone I don't think Evil Kanival could have made that leap.

This has often perplexed me as well... They are also predominantly pro-war (which ultimately kills thousands of innocent living breathing human beings). How can these things be cohesive at all? They are living breathing hypocrites.

To me it makes sense.

What crime can a baby commit? None. Babies are innocent.

There needs to be some form of deterrent to violent criminals, hence the death penalty. It's called being responsible for your actions!
