Society is going down the flusher? We have people in America going to McDonalds every gosh darn diggity day. And look at all the crap on the ground! Yes, might as well fill a big toilet with crap and shove us in it!

I've always found littering distressing. Especially when hiking in pristine mountain wilderness and coming across a beautiful turquoise mountain lake in which somebody had dumped last night's rice dinner while washing the dishes, along with a pair of discarded underwear. I saw this about 20 years ago while crossing the High Sierra (California) and I still remember it as one of the worst abominations against nature. Also, when I went to Yosemite, all the crap spilling out of overflowing garbage cans at Yosemite Village from reheated frozen hamburgers and hot dogs made me wish that the Indians hadn't lost their battle for Yosemite Valley. (They thought it was holy ground and they fought bitterly for it.) Now it's a Disney Land for the "outdoorsy" type. I never go there anymore for this reason even though I live less than 100 miles from the Park. It just makes me sad. I feel your pain.

Thank you for making this point. If you have reached even one self-centered slob, your question was worth asking.

Yes society is headed down the flusher, but it isn't because of McDonalds.

Go ahead & jump; that will leave room for the rest of us to do something constructive about things, like not eat at McDonalds, to start with.

It's pretty sad to think that way but I can't believe that's true but on the other hand it doesn't help either when you see adds for it on tv and hear it all the time on the radio and people wonder why our state is obese

I do believe so. We have all this new technology, so we abuse nature. We don't need air to breathe or water to drink. We just need grease to feed us and computers to supply us with life. And Diet Coke instead of water.

Yes, but if you start by picking up the litter YOU see, the world will be improved. I used to, before it got too painful to bend over. (arthritis)

your absolutely right people dont care anymore and that sucks. If the indians from way back when could see the earth now they would cry of the mess we made of it, and how we polluted it.
