My brother's child's name is Matthew James.

But, I'm with you, go with the Latin name. My husband is Puerto Rican, and I would choose a name with his heritage, either in the first name or middle name. Keep in mind, you could use Mateo as the middle name since you love it so much, and find a more easily pronounced or recognizable name as the first name. Then again, in many Latin cultures, children do not have middle names. If it is to hard to decide, then just go with Mateo Nuno.

Both names are neat, but I'm a sucker for the classics, so I'd go with Matthew. Here are my middle name suggestions:

Matthew Scott
Matthew Craig
Matthew Lee
Matthew Caine

It's somewhat hard to make a suggestion without knowing your last name, but I would recommend that you pay a lot of attention to the rhythm of the name... try to avoid middle names that are the same number of syllables as the first or last name. My husband's names (first, middle and and last) are all one syllable. That's just weird.

Congrats... I'm assuming there is a baby on the way? Good Luck!
