I am going to break down and buy an ipod after Christmas and was wondering what the hip one to buy was now? I'm willing to spend about $200 or so. I'm NOT going to buy it from Ebay, but from a store where I can actually try it out before I buy it. I'd like to get one that plays videos if you guys recommend that if videos aren't that expensive. Also, what websites do you recommend that I use to download songs for inexpensive or free? I'd like to get an ipod in a neat color, not just a white one as well, and I would be using this at work, and at my gym during workouts and maybe eventually in my car as well, but would have to buy the adaptor which would cost a few more hundred dollars. Thanks!

Actually, for $20 they have a thing that broadcasts the music from you iPod onto an FM frequency and thus you can just tune your car radio to that frequency and listen to it.
Limewire is a program that has free music and videos. http://www.limewire.com
The Nano is probably the hottest thing right now as far as iPods go. Although, I wouldn't get one just because I am afraid I would snap it in half since they are so thin. I actually don't have an iPod and here is why: after a couple years, their battery doesn't hold a charge and then you have to buy a whole new one because the battery isn't replacable. I would look at other brands with the same features too just to see if you can get a better deal.
Anyways, the radio transmitter and music from Limewire work with any music player, not just iPods.
Okay, maybe get one of the new Microsoft Zunes! lol. I haven't looked at those yet but they are supposed to be nice.
Okay, I'm done now.

I would actually recommend the Sansa e200 the 8GB cost about $180 and plays videos as well as music and pictures. There are also alot of great players out there besides the iPod for under $200. iPods are seriously overpriced. As for videos you can download them off of google or utube and convert them into any format using free software.
