I don't like pirates, togas, decades or pajamas. This is a birthday party for my best friend, who is turning 26. I thought sailors would be funny, but it's tomorrow and where will everyone get a sailor suit? I thought pro wrestlers, but I'm not sure people will be into that. Any ideas that are not totally lame.

My friends actually don't have nice clothes. They're dirtbags, but I love that idea. If I get some classy friends, I'll do that. Thanks alot.

Try a black and white affair! Or have a masquerade... everyone has something black or white, and you can get a mask anywhere! Good luck!! if pro wrestlers doesnt work try NFL, NBA, or any other well known athletes! How bout a movie theme? have everone be there favorite actor or actress... thats not too hard!! do a beach theme...afterall here in ohio its like 60 degrees and its five freakin days till christmas!!! good luck!!! and have fun!! if you need more let me know.. ive got plenty more ideas!!!

My sister had a 'White Trash Party' where everyone dressed up like they thought white trash dresses. Everyone brought a covered dish like 'beans and weenies' (guess I must be white trash, then, because I actually LIKE beans and weenies) and the dessert was Twinkies covered in grape jelly and then topped with whipped cream. She also had a 'Croquet Whites' party one year where everybody wore knee length white pants and polo shirts and sat around drinking mint juleps. They really did play croquet, too. Another theme was 'Roller Derby' where people wore fake tattoos and dressed out like they'd just as soon take your head off as tell you hello. She always has fun parties.

I love Brucie's idea and then maybe you could have a contest to vote for the worst sweater and give out an Old Navy or other clothing store gift card.
With more younger people out there knitting, you know there's bound to be a real eyesore out there.

Rich Aristocrates! or a Fancy cocktail party. Give everyone a fun reason to wear that nice suit and tie they only wear when a family member dies. Or better yet that gown you love but only wore to your prom. Everyone has one overly fancy outfit they just never get to wear. Good luck!

I personally am a fan of the schoolgirl party. All the girls dress like schoolgirls and the guys need to wear a tie in order to replicate the school uniform.
