Yes, it would.
HOWEVER, it takes getting used to, because:
1) it weighs almost a 100 lbs more than a glide front end.
2) it doesn't have as much travel as a glide front end.
3) without the dampner (looks like a shock hanging off the front end), it will "POGO" when you hit a bump.

the hardest part would be sourcing a triple clamp which would have the correct offset to allow you to keep the frame rails under the motor paralell to the ground (ie, the way the bike sits currently with the sporty forks). Not a novice modification.

it could be done, but then it wouldnt be a sportster anymore. springer's dont give the smoothest of ride's tho.
