Having a gun pointed between my eyes, shot twice a foot from my feet and pointed back between my eyes

I was 16 when this happened...I lived only with my dad, he was drunk and mad and pulled out the gun the day after Christmas...I left a couple of months later and without it I never would have moved away and met my husband and had my 2 beautiful daughters. It was a tramatic experience that ended up being a blessing in disquise. My dad passed away a few years ago - his heart blew up. But we were on good terms...I am not a grudge holder.

Even though I was not there, seeing what happened to the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Knowing how vunerable this country really was. It really left me shocked to know that someone would acutally do that to innocent people. I also really was glad to see how everyone from coast to coast pulled together thru such a tragic event to help those that it impacted most(those that survived it). At that moment I felt so helpless that I couldn't do something more myself than to show support thru the local things that were done in my city.

Hurricane Katrina/Rita.

I lived at a RedCross shelter until mid-September and got to know the victims of the storms really well. We still keep in touch too. I'll never be the same.
