I am moving and it is sitting in my car. Will it be okay if the temperature is in the 20's during the day and in the l0's at night. Or should I just bring it inside. I am gonna take it to a friends house soon. Its snowing so I don't want to make that trip just yet.

The biggest concern with computer would normally be heat. Heat is never good. I don't know about cold but if it were me I would bring it inside.

Most solid state eletroncis works better when colder... Hence the cpu fan. That being said a machine left out in the elements might become vicitim to condensation. That'd be really bad. Odds are though it should be fine sitting in a car. If you're really paranoid, wraping it up in a plastic bag or cling wrap to make sure it's water tight and it should be ok.

Check out the manual for you box ( or mother board / CPUmanual if you assembled it). There should be a section on environmental condtions optimal for operation.

The mointor on the other hand is a diffrent story. LCD's and CRTS don't really like too much variation in temprature. Check their manuals too, you should see a "happy range o operation".

hi Questionable Mark , somewhat cooler is commonly extra suitable for a working laptop or computing device except you have a fan that's no longer commencing right whilst chilly. Take the element off your case this nighttime and interior the morning once you boot up verify to confirm all your followers initiate. the only on your CPU is the only i've got faith could be inflicting an argument. it may in basic terms % a teeny drop of easy-weight oil to perk it back up. It will be fine, but once you bring it in, let if set and get to room temp. I have done this in the past with no problems. It is not the cold you have to worry about, but the parts getting wet.

It is better that you computer does not freeze.
If it does drop under 32 then wait till it gets to 40 and wipe off any moister before turning it on. After it get to room temp again wipe it off.

Most computer can even handle operating at 10F but I would not recommend it.

I would not suggest you leave it in a car period. I might get stolen. Bring it in and keep it close to you if you are worried about it. Don't leave it in a cold car it could demage it.
