Well, you don't have to buy a stocking and put glue and glitter. You could knit a stock for all I care. And if you can't knit, there's another way. You can buy Crayola's Glitter Glue. It is mixed inside a plastic pencil- looking- like bottle and all you have to do is squeeze the bottle while holding it like a pencil and....WRITE! They come in different colors and you canbuy them at Target, Wal-Mart, almost anywhere, they are cheap too! But there is one negative thing...... it's kind of small. About twice as tall as an 11- year-old's ring finger.
I hope that helped.

Get some fat quarters of quilting fabric and iron a sheet of fusible webbing to the back then cut out the letters of the names you need and iron them onto the stocking. Thread a tapestry needle with a strand of yarn and do a blanket or a whip stitch around the edges of the letters or just a simple running stitch just around the inside edge . For a little glitz, use some of that metallic embroidery floss to outline the letters. This floss would also look good just as embroidered letters.

Only other things I can think of are embroidery, applique, and beading. Good luck!
