All my life I've had dreams of certain places *this zoo, snow globe, house that the interior changes from time to time but when I walk outside it's the same place* most of which I've never been to. Along with places, there's usually the same situation. With my house, I'm trying to get away from a party but keep getting caught. The zoo there's nearly allways animals escaping. The snow globe there was a snow queen that took me to visit santa and such *they go back as far as I remember, but stopped before I was six*
Is there something to the setting of a dream, and is it more important if it is exactly the same setting revisited with different people both from past and present? I still can't find a dream interpreter *online thing, you type in dream, it spits out interpretations of phrases, not just simple words like all the dictionaries availible that have proven useless. the symolism of the word "flying" isn't going to help you when you're surounded by flying birds in your dream*

It depends on how "anal-retentive", or compulsive you are as to whether the dreams have to be exactly the same to be considered recurring. Being a retired mental health professional with 20+ years experience, I've had some interest in dreams, but did not pursue that subject to any extent due to the insignifance of many people's dreams and the over-significance they place on them, or their use of them and their "interpretations" as a way of avoiding the real clinical issues they present with. As to the possible significance of the setting of the dream, I can't speak to that professionally, but I can say that in the past several months, maybe even six to nine months, I occasionally have dreams in which a college campus is the setting. Now, I know I spent a lot of years in college, and loved it for the most part, but as to any "significance" to the setting, I'm not sure, other than to make my dreams more enjoyable. They are fun and I enjoy them as much as I recall enjoying college. People expected I might be having scarey dreams about the railroad since my accident with a train about six years ago, but other than a few dreams back then, I haven't had any concern, good or bad, about the railroads, so that sent a few "dream analysts" "back to the drawing board" to check their theories. Oh, and I wouldn't waste my time on any on-line dream interpreter thing. When I was in my practice, working for community mental health agency in my earliest times, we had one of our many incompetent directors, a psychologist from California, who got all excited about some ready-made diagnostic program that would speed up our evaluation process on new patients. After she spent $10,000.00+ on this program and the necessary computers to go along with it, she finally came to realize the stupidity of her ways, and dropped the program, and tried to come up with some new use for the computers to cover-her-asss for the stupid and wasteful spending of money she did in the first place. As predictable as I have come to believe human beings are, I also realize there is the necessity for the human element in psychology / psychiatry, etc., and to find some ready-made program to substitute for the human being is way off course. Maybe I'll be so lucky as to be dead and gone before somebody "successfully" (however they'll measure "success") develop such a program. God Bless you.

I actually have had a number of. the first I had for type of 10 years and it develop right into somewhat diverse each and every time. See, my mom had died of maximum cancers at the same time as i develop into 15 and that i kept dreaming that she got here decrease back and it develop into lifestyles as time-honored, yet then she had to go away again. We did not rather get to communicate inclusive of her or some thing she merely got here and went. weird and wonderful. yet another one also replaced somewhat. diverse places, in spite of the undeniable fact that the same element got here about and infrequently extra issues got here about. i develop into overlooking the sea at the same time as suddenly the tide receded like a mile and also you should work out the bottom of the sea and all it truly is canyons and stuff, then the waves got here crashing in. one hundred foot waves, coming closer and closer and closer and we had to run for our lifestyles. in certain circumstances i develop into merely on the coastline and the waves suddenly were given huge. i'm petrified of waves. It did not help that I lived on a sailboat for almost 4 years both, yet my desires did flow away. i have had a pair different water desires too. unusual. those days I had a dream that i desire i do not get again. had to do with being held at gunpoint and me no longer having my enable to carry yet. My classification is on the 13th. I dreamt that a guy held a gun to my head and my husband did no longer have the prospect to grant his gun from his individual and then the undesirable guy took my husband away at gunpoint. If I had my gun on me, the 2d the freak grew to develop into his decrease back he may were useless. i'm a marginally sturdy shot. i didn't wish a enable to carry earlier, yet now I do. The dream develop into too authentic. Then my husbands mom (who's useless now) bought me a chocolate malt.

Your dreams do not have to be exactly the same to be in the category of reoccurring. You are worried about various aspects of the same subject.
