I heard that coloring your hair during pregnancy is bad because of the chemicals. Of course I don't know if its actually true but I've heard other people say that coloring your hair during pregnancy is not a good idea

As soon as I found out I was preggers, I died my hair back to my natural color (brunette) and didn't dye it anymore during pregnancy. Only really harsh stuff like bleaching or lightening is not recommended esp in the 1st trimester. I did have some highligts put in later on the pregnancy, but the dye does not hit the scalp like all over coloring. Hope this helps. And congrads.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I colored my hair, I think I was about 5 months.

When I was pregnant with my son. I went to a salon at about 13 weeks.

My kids turned out fine.

It is recommended that you do not color your hair while pregnant. The chemicals can affect the baby.
However, there are ways to do it safely. Here is a link for you to check out.

doctors don't recommend you coloring you hair until you are over 3 months pregnant, because the chemicals in the dyes could hurt the development of you fetus. after 3 months you are ok, to dye you hair!!

Theres no evidence to support that is DOESNT effect the baby, but theres none to suggest that it does either.

The main consensus across the board is to avoid it until you're past your first trimester, although avoiding it entirely is best.

Many people (like celebs) get their hair colored regularly when pregnant. Their kids are as normal as they could be.

It's a yes and no answer. You can dye it only if it's vegetable dye or Henna dye, not regular dye. Ventilation or not, it's the chemicals that soak through your pores. Talk to your hairstylist and ask her if she has dyes minus the ammonia. Try not to inhale any of that stuff.

Coloring your hair is the safest in the last trimester, anything sooner you might want to ask your dr.
Good luck.
