Taco Bell Corp., a fast-food restaurant chain, is a division of Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell serves food items loosely based on Tex-mex cuisine, although it has now evolved into a cuisine of its own. It is headquartered in Irvine, California and has locations in the United States, Canada, and Iceland.
As of December 8, 2006, the company is in the middle of an ongoing investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration due to E. coli food poisoning in various stores. The franchise has stated its opinion that green onions, also known as scallions, are the source of the problem. Taco Bell disposed of all its green onions until further notice. An external review later (December 14, 2006) came to the conclusion that shredded lettuce is the likely source of the problem. [4]
Company President Greg Creed appeared in a televison commercial on or about December 19, 2006, assuring the public that the food at Taco Bell is now safe to eat.
Countries of operations will be listed at the website below.

Tacos are to Mexicans what Haggis is to Scots. Only tacos taste better. But Taco Bell's tacos are NOT good. Pray that you get a Taco Villa (the most heavenly tacos you can buy.) They may only have them in Texas. I don't know for sure, but contact the Bobby Cox company in Fort Worth and ask them to put some in Scotland. They also have good Mexican food places called Rosa's. You just can't quit thinking of them if they are nearby and you are hungry. Excellent companies and Very clean. I have inspected both for years. But it is Mexican food or Tex-Mex...not Hispanic. There is no such place as Hispania.

If you want taco bell then why are you asking what it is. Taco Bell is a fast food mexican restaraunt, and if I were you I would lay off of it for a while because of the E. Coli problem.

It's a very cheap fast food chain serving a mexican style of food. You don't expect much when you go there, the quality is low. It's like a McDonald's for Mexican-American food. They serve tacos, burritos, that sort-of thing for about $1 an item, maybe $2 for some things.

Taco Bell serves Hispanic(Mexican) dish. They are so yummy either you can order by drive through or eat inside. A great selection Mexican dish for you to choose and have unlimited refills of your favorite drink. Taco Bell, like many other fast food chain is usually packed on lunch time so I try to go there just before lunch or on late evenings. Very relaxing place to go to. Try to visit the US and enjoy the many other places we have, I won't even mind to show you around.

well from the previous answers you can see there are some americans who dislike Taco Bell....but they have good reason....i've eaten there many a time, it's fine for me. but it's not authentic mexican food, not even close! it's "americanized-mexican" it's made cheaper with semi fresh ingredients. i mean their "taco" is a flour tortilla, shredded cheddar cheese, and shredded iceberg lettuce....that's it!!! pretty bland for our $1.29.
the ice cream taco they sell is awesome...if you can find it, some don't carry the "choco-taco" anymore...just due to lack of popularity....but if you can find one, they're great! it's good, for cheap mexican, but if you want authentic go to a hole in the wall/ mom and pop shop!
Taco Bell Corp. office is located in Irvine, CA it's actually 4 blocks away from my work place!!
