as much as harry potter is one fantastic story i think she should end it at 7 quite simply because its about following him through his years at hogwarts and if she carries on people wil just get bored so in order for jkr to keep her great mind she should leave it at its best

It will be the last book in the series, but Jo is considering a HP enclyopedia, and she hasn't ruled out more textbooks.
Series Books:
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's (Sorcerer's) Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Book 7 (Currently being written for release next summer)
Other HP books written by Jo:
Quidditch Through The Ages (Hogwarts library Book)
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Harry's school text book)
Possible Furture Books:
An HP Enclyopedia
More School textbooks

It should be the last one as Rowling has promised that it would be a series of 7 books. However it is taking its time as (over a decade) and it seems as though the money might have gotten to her head so the books might still keep coming but get worse (if you know what I mean)
At the moment Harry Potter is still amazing though. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is in cinemas Summer 2007 and I doubt the 7th book will be out before then.

J. K. Rowling has said that this would be the end of the Harry Potter saga, but she hasn't said whether she will write more books about the world she created.
I personally think that Rowling could no more stop writing than stop breathing. She's a writer, and some time after the Potter books are finished, I have no doubt that she will find a story creeping into her consciousness and screaming to get out. I think she'll write other books, and they will be good books. But I think she may want to take a breather after the last Potter book is out.

yes, jk rowling's said several times there's only going to be 7 and that's the end. course if you're really that upset about the end of the series, go and read fanfiction - there's a huge range of stories online, that's growing every day. or find another good author and read that - there's such a wide range to choose from!
she might also do some sort of encyclopedia or textbooks. also, i'm sure she'll write some other series', not just harry potter.
after all, the whole point of the series is that it follows harry through school - all 7 years.

I really wish that she would make another book too... but JK is getting tired of Harry Potter and just wants to move on... She has already started on a new children book series... I Hate To Amit To This... This has been stated already....
