Your best bet would be to call up a few contractors in your area. They will come to your home measure how much insulation will be needed. They will sit down with you and explain the different options you have, such as different types if insulation, how thick it will need to be. Then they will mail you a proposal, and you can compare prices, and go with the contractor, that best fits your budget.

prolly like 600-800, depending on what size house and what type insulation. its been a while since i've done any, but definately buy the roll out plastic covered kind if you're going to do it yourself. and remember that even if it cost more than i stated, hey- you'll save that money back in no time through lower energy bills
