I for one am disgusted by some of the replies - "Sex" "Porn" "Sad ppl like it" - Totally forget any of that.
Manga is a japanese comic. With some Manga's they will be in authetic Japanese style, which means you read right to left (also meaning starting at what appears to be the back of the book.)
I will list a site where you can find all information.
Firstly, there is only one type of Pornography in Manga and that is HENTAI. Secondly, millions of people read Manga, myself one of them, and i am in no way "sad".
Some of the most popular Manga are Naruto | InuYasha ... and some others but i wont care to list.
Please see the Sources before making any judgement on what Manga is, you'll either love it, or hate it.

Usually, when someone refers to manga they are either talking about the comic books or they are simply talking about the general art style.
Manga is a Japanese comic book. If you've ever seen Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, or Naruto, then you've seen an anime that was turned into/based off of a manga. You would have also seen the art style that has grown to be so popular nowadays.
And just to be clear, manga is not an animation (that's called anime). Manga is extremely varied and has a wide range of books to choose from. Some popular choices would be Fruit Basket (shoujo/meant for girls), Hellsing (action), or Naruto.
