Cable is $10000.00 to install and satellite is almost $8000.00 - neither of these includes a monthly fee. Someone said I could get a card for my computer and use a cell phone, is this correct? Please help!

If you actually have cell reception in the rural area, you can get internet connection from your phone. You actually just need to buy the cable that hooks into your phone and has a USB plug for the computer. It also comes with software that you download that helps you sign on each time. You DO USE your air time though, so the best time to do this would be nights and weekends of course. Your cell phone company should sell these cables. You may have to resort to regular phone dial us service, try cable if it is available.

Do you have phone service? They well may have DSL and that can be as fast as cable. Use of a cell phone might give you headaches particularly if you are far from a tower. I am not familiar with using a cell phone on a computer. I know laptops do have wireless connections through Verizon or other servers.

They are not talking about using your cell phone, but using a card from your cell service, you can get a high speed connection, but it is not available in every area. If you can get cable, you can get cable internet. You could try and see how far you are from a DSL box. You might be able to get ISDN, but you will need to talk to your ISP and see if they offer that.

Yes, it's possible. But you need a cell phone with blue tooth and a wireless card for your computer.

Why should satellite be so expensive? I think someone is yanking your chain. Don't be using your cell phone, yo!
