I want to know how old these people are that are talking about Babe Ruth. Anyway it's a toss up between Paul O'neil, Don Mattingly, Ken Griffey Jr. And Derek Jeter. Oneil played w/ the most intesity than anyone else in sports has 5 world seies rings and will be in the hall of fame. griffey had and still has the most fundamentally sound swing ever, plus he was every kids favorite. I he were healthy his whole career he would have at least 650-675 homeruns. Jeter is Jeter enough said. And Donnie Baseball is just the all around Yankee/Ball player an All star and batting champ

I would have to say Tony Gwynn. He was always willing to teach the game as well as learn the game he was always a student and a teacher and improved even when he was at his best. You would think with his size he would have been no better then a 2 year player but he developed and honed his skills to become a (stroid free) Hall of Famer during a time in which cheating was big. He cherished and respected the game something that is missing in todays players.

If it is not Pulos then you are not aware of the statistics and records he has set for first six years. Maybe the best of all time. If the Cardinals offered him to Philly for the MVP, philly would have taken it in a second
