I'm a big Habs fan, but at this point it's unquestionably Anaheim.

They've got three solid offensive lines, a great goalie in Giguere, and an outstanding group of defensemen. It's almost unfair that any team should have both Pronger and Niedermayer, who are arguably the two best blueliners in the league.

A good example of how strong they are came a couple of nights ago against the Flames. Anaheim was just back from a long road trip, and they looked a little flat. Still, they ended up dominating a very good Flames team for the final two periods and they pulled away in the third. It was a pretty impressive performance, and it helps show why they've only lost four times this season.

Anaheim Ducks.
They have 2 of the best defenceman in Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer. JS Giguere has played quite well in goal. Teemu Salanne has been playing quite well. They have lost just 4 times in regulation.

You know who is the best when it's big news when they lose a game - Anaheim.

They are built with both speed and physicality in a way no other team is.

And to address the thing about Huet being hot, I don't see him leading the Canadiens out of the first round.

Ducks without a doubt. Don't get me wrong I'm a Habs fan and living in the west I take a lot of flack of that. I agree with all of your points.

But bottom line is the Ducks are amazing right now. They are solid all around and nothing seems to phase them. They step up and produce results every time they get on the ice. To play in the west and have the record they do right now is nothing short of amazing.

I'm a HUGE Habs fan, but the Ducks right now are the best as you can see in the Standings. but your right Huet is the best in the NHL right now. just imagine if the Habs dropped the shots against by 10 how more dominate they would be.

I'd say the Habs. They're on a hot streak winning 4 games in a row. Best in powerplay and 2nd best in penalty kill. They've got the best goalie and it's only a matter of time before they overtake Buffalo in the standings. GO HABS GO!

No doubt its Anaheim, with Pronger and Niedermayer at the blue line 2 strong goalies and Selanne back in top form offensively they are the most complete team. Still I say: "go habs go".

Try looking west to Anaheim or San Jose and you will see probably the top two teams in the league on Dec 20th. Both have solid teams, have played through injuries to key players, and have managed to put together great records even with the tough travel schedules they have. Put Montreal down there, and have them play the Ducks or Sharks schedule and they would be below .500 for the season.
