If you really have a dead baby inside of you the only way you would know is if your doctor told you, and then the doctor would have taken you for a D&C, there is no way a doctor would allow you to carry a dead baby for 6 weeks. There is no herbs that you can take. If you really have a dead fetus sitting in your womb for 6 weeks, you will develop an infection if not treated ASAP. So go to a hospital now. If you are really traumatized by carrying a dead baby, you really need to go and get it removed, its the only way by either a D&C or a labor induction done by a doctor. And since the baby is dead your body will start to treat it as an infection, so you need to get treatment. Herbs will not help, and can just cause more damage.

Now that you clarified your question and it has not been dead inside for 6 weeks and you are only six weeks pregnant, your body might expell it on its on. If it doesn't happen soon, you will still need to have a doctor intervention. Sorry for your loss.

I know it seems like people are insensitive because they don't understand what a MISSED ABORTION is. It's a traumatic experience having to carry around something you know is dead - I had to carry mine for an additional 3 weeks before my OB/GYN would do a D&C. (I REALLY wanted the D&C to get it over with.) The night before the surgery was when I started passing clots the size of my fist - the miscarriage started on its own.

Naturally you can wait up to four weeks after the diagnosis. Beyond that you tend to run the risk of infection from the products of conception. As for any herbal remedies - I've never heard of anything being successful. Your body will eventually recognize the loss and let it go as painful as it is and sounds.

*Edited: Your doctor could also prescribe you Mistoprostol or a medication like it to help you miscarry at home.

I really do feel for your loss having "been there, done that". Best wishes and good luck.

Pennyroyal tea is a natural abortificant and can cause strong muscular contractions in the uterus which could expel the fetus. It has been used for centuries to induce contractions and either abort or purge the uterine cavity. It can cause severe bleeding and you'll have to go to the ER (or be ready too) if the bleeding gets too heavy. It doesn't cause any sustainable damage to the body either and conception is safe after using it. Pennyroyal can be purchased at herb stores or alternative shops. I apologize in advance because I can't give you the exact way to make the tea because I wouldn't want to be responsible for any injury you might sustain. The store you buy it from can give you the amount to brew and drink or you can find it on the internet. I hope you understand.

I'm sorry for your loss.

But you should really let your doctor handle this.

Edit: Six weeks along isn't too far and your risks for bleeding would be low with the Pennyroyal if you choose that route.

Yes, there are herbs that will do this. Unfortunately, I cannot recall them at the moment, but yes, there is a natural way. Any midwife would know such a thing, give a midwifery clinic a call. 6 weeks is a long time, decay is rapid and can lead to toxic effects on you.

To change the subject, trying for a year to get pregnant is quite a long time. You and your mate should try to increase your overall health as the body will naturally become less fertile the more unhealthy you are. You may feel fine, but low fertility is definitely a sign of something out of balance. Look into the yin/yang balance of your food intake.

That does not sound any type of natural to be carrying a dead baby for 6 weeks. I dont believe that a dr would encourage this. You need to do the right thing and go back to your dr to get the baby out. Im sorry for your loss. How far along were you?

You might want to really look into a d&c if you are so freaked out that there is a dead baby there (by the way...its not a baby at 6 weeks) A d&c will clean out all teh tissue and make it nice and clean for your next pregnancy

I just want to say sorry for your frustration, I was 8 weeks along and I miscarried, it happened right after my husband left for Iraq, so I have to wait 15 months to keep trying. But I'm sorry it happened to you....good luck with everything, wish I knew something that would help. Did you try going to a 2nd Dr? Try talking to a midwife also. GOOD LUCK, hope you have a happy holiday.

since your baby has died you may or may not be able to do anything naturally. I hope that you are cont to keep in contact with your doctor to see if your body will take care of it.

That being said Black/blue cohosh have been known to induce miscarriages. It causes contractions but can also cause heavy bleeding and hemorraging. Take them with care and do your research.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Go see a doctor. It's a serious matter and you shouldn't take the risk of trying at home remedies. Good luck and I'm sorry for your loss.
