I would ask why if you are salaried. What would the reason be? Maybe they don't count your first day as paid. I had a company prorate my salary for a one-day lay-off over a month period. I didn't have to come in.

If you started the job a day or two into the pay cycle, you're only going to get paid for the days you actually worked. You'll be paid at your salaried rate, pro-rated for the 4 days you were physically there to work. You don't get paid for any days that pass from any given pay period if you hadn't actually started the job yet! It's common sense!

The employer is liable for payment of wages based on hours worked, not days if non-exempt (from the Fair Labor Standards Act); salaried employees are "exempt", and therefore not entitled to overtime after 40 hours of work in a workweek.
Exempt status is based on several requirements, such as ability to hire and fire, having a major policy making/ decision making responsibility, supervising others, and many more. There are salaried, non-exempt employees such as secretaries, clerks, etc.
If you were not paid properly, contact the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor for advice or to file a complaint.

Yes, it depends on their paycycle. You came in 4 days before their paycycle ends, so thats what you get. Next paycheck should be normal. Don't worry, a salary is for a year and they will pay you how much your supposed to get by one complete year of work for them.

If you only worked for four days during the pay period, then you should only get paid for working four days during the pay period.

yes he can only pay for the week but it depends on if the 1st day was for you become acquainted with the job
i would accept this for now but if this continues that they only want to pay you less but for now i would say accept it ( no need to get on thier bad side for 1 days pay that you might not get anyways)
