People are always telling me that I look sad or depressed or they ask if i'm okay (with a concerned tone). I think i'm just looking like me, but I have looked in the mirror and caught myself off gaurd looking quite, well sad. I am a little depressed but not really like clinically or anything, at least I don't think so. Anyway I really want to look happy but how do I do that. How can I truly be happy.

One thing I had noticed up there in your writing is you seam to be believing these other people. Giving them power over how you feel....
There are a lot of people who when not smiling look mad, sad, whatever. One of my things I say is I could be talking to a brick wall and be perfectly happy. This does not mean I am literally talking to a brick wall lol! This is meaning that I am a thinker. I can sit anywhere and be lost in my own thoughts. To others I look sad,mad whatever. If someone breaks into my thoughts by talking to me I get startled for one. Then of course it breaks my thought pattern and I can then converse with someone. My looks also give the impression I am mad, sad or whatever. I have pictures to show me this because of course I do not notice it, like others who do not realize what they look like to others.
Is this the way you are?
Just because another says you are sad, mad or whatever doesn't mean you are.
If you want to change this teach yourself to smile. It sounds stupid but it is not. Just smile! Every time you think about it, smile. After a time this smile will be on your face and you will not even notice it.
Good luck ...

Eh, at least you're not doing like most of us and pasting on a happy face to make the world stop. Take a closer look at some of your boucier friend, when it gets down to it, they may not be as happy as they act. As for being clinically depressed, it'd be pretty much if you felt bad for no reason in particular. It can be dealt with without any treatment. Situationally depressed would be that there's something getting to you and it may be hitting you harder than it should. That can be dealt with without treatment as well.
Then there's the point when anti-depressants and whathaveyou come into play, chronic depression. That would be where you've been low for a LONG time and you've tried things to lift your spirits, but it doesn't work. Funny thing with medication, though, is that in all the meds that I've been on for depression, only two or three *out of 7 that I can count right now, prolly closer to ten though* have been anti-depressants. There are anti-psychotics, anti-anxiety, hell, medication for seziers is used sometimes.
Happiness can only come from yourself. When I was on meds I didn't feel sad, but I was never happy. Then I came off them and suddenly I had my emotions back. The downside there, I now obsess *i want a puppy and i want her NOW* the same way I used to and old habits are hard to keep out of when you feel the need *Mommy, hide my razorblades!* But if you've been bummed for a while, then go see your doctor who can reffer you to a psych doc, be it psycholigist if she thinks therapy alone would work, psychiatrist if she think meds are the best option, or both depending on how your doctor sees the situation.
Going in for a consultation doesn't make you crazy or condem you to a weekly visit, but it could help.
Whatever you do, don't go burrying your depression in drugs, they don't make you happy they just make you forget that you care, trust me *though I've got nothing against smoking a little mary jane recreationaly, using any kind of drug to make you forget is not a good idea because then you get addicted, and that's not good. don't get me strated on the slippery slope of "if the nicotene in this cig makes me feel better, then THC will make me feel even better, and cocaine is EVEN better, and crack will be EVEN more better, and meth will be EVEN MORE beter..." you know how it'd go on* But this was not a question about drugs, it was about the possibility of depression, kinda.

Go see your doctor, they can have you take a written test *but I think it's stupid, because lieing on those is like par for the corse. lie to make it look worse for the attention whores, lie to make it seem not so bad for the people terrified of being crazy...* and again with the refferal to the proper doctor. Good luck.

what's making you "a little depressed"? Is it a small thing, a big problem. Talk to someone about your problem, they can help you fix it or get you through it. Having someone to confide in will also make you feel less depressed. Hang out with friends, do stuff sports, movies, art, music. etc.) that will make you forget about whatever is making you sad. Maybe even see a psychiatrist about your problem... I mean you don't want the depression to worsen.

i always put a happy face on top of my real face, so people think I'm always happy. However, when I'm creating music (most of my music are sad ones) or when I'm focused on something, the happy face drops away. Teachers always tend to look at me while im working, and they always ask me if im feeling ok, and it gets frusturating, because these are the times when I want to be ignored.

Same here, people ask me that and tell me I look sad and depressed too. It helps me when I am down to find the problem stand up and fix it! Good luck! :)

Smile it makes you look happy and friendly. Just think of something funny and try to keep a face similar to that. You can't force it just try to get use to it so you appear to be a happier person. And you know what you probably will become a happier person.

Join the club. People have said I looked sad many times before, they've also said that I looked evil or angry too.

I Understand, I used to get that also. I just found something that made me happy and focused on that. If you are passionate about something, it shows. Find something you love...I found Jesus and found true freedom and happiness.

SIMPLY NO EMOTIONS. actually people has the one who has problem they are not comfortable facing a person, without smiling at them. they feel insecure without talking to you.
know yourself so you don't get confused.
