I'm really anal about how my legs look. During the summer I have no problem shaving and I keep them mositurized and they look fine. but during the winter I don't get the same soft shave and I get TERRIBLE ingrown hair it's terrible and I am so self conscious about it. It's really embarassing. I use lotion and I've tried different razors I use scrubs and loofahs. Any opinions on what I should i try. Depilatories only make it worse too I've tried it. I'm also half italian and half russian so I have to shave at least once or twice a day cause my hair grows back so quick and thick and VERY NOTICEABLE!!!!

this might sound bad but I can't stand not having smooth legs...I'm almost OCD about it.... I live with my boyfriend so I want my legs to be nice and not all gross and stubbly.

P.S. How long do you have to wait to get your legs waxed? Like how long does the hair have to be????

well, first of all, i'm a guy, so i don't have the issues you girls have and to be honest, i don't even have to shave my face but once or twice a week... however, i did manage a skincare store for a short time, so this might help...
there are, as you know, many different ways to remove the hair from your legs. there are also different things you can use instead of shaving cream on them.
the reason you have trouble is likely due to the change in weather and less moisture in the air. the more you shave, the more your skin will become dry. it's the worst thing possible for your skin... however, you can't avoid shaving, right? well, try gettting something called shave butter. it's a moisturizing agent that works as a shaving cream. it will likely be made with shea butter and you can just rub in the remainder once you're done shaving. i've used it on my face and it tends to help. you're going to want to make sure you've got a good razor and not one with dull blades because if you shave with dull blades, you're going to have to press harder and that will just take away skin, again, drying your skin.
good luck.

Maybe in winter try having a nice warm bath before shaving to soften the hairs then after shaving just give a rub with a loofah or face washer to stop ingrown hairs and then pack on the moisturiser to keep your legs nice and soft.

Mens shaving cream with extra moisturerizers or aloe. Then use
Arbonne Reactiving Sea Salt Scrub. This stuff is wonderful for winter dry legs It costs about $28.00 I think you can buy it on line, but they also have parties where you can get it free or low cost you can check online for it. I got mine from a party, it lasts along time and is AWESOME!

It might be because of the colder weather.. you can try using a thicker lotion.. but unfortch.. my legs get the same red bumps all winter too. The air is dryer.. and because its so cold.. it just causes those little red bumps.
