I'm not sure which chromosome is broken. I'm 17 and I'm mostly average for my age. I always felt like I was a little behind, but I'm not sure whether that's related to this matter or not. What will this mean to me and for future children?

i'm no doctor and only in 7th grade biology, but we are learning about chromosones and reproduction right now. This means that part of your chromotid has broken off or not connected to the other chromotid. If this dosen't repair itself, your children have a higher chance of having a disabilty than some other future mother's, but it is not guarenteed that it will happen.

It depends on what exactly is meant by 'broken' - There are variety of chromosomal abnormalities that occur from breaking. The consequences depend on on whether the broken part reattaches in some way, and if so, how it reattaches, or whether the broken part gets lost entirely. Here's a good article on the topic:

A broken chromosone means that whatever that particular gene controls will be dominant in any of your children. In all honesty, most people have some strand that is broken - so just enjoy life and take it as it comes

It will be fixed with proper glycosylation. You and future children will be fine.

Fix the cells and the cells fix the body.
