In New Jersey, Colorado and possibly other states, they have banned smoking statewide in restaraunts and bars and other public places, but casinos are exempt from this. Why?
Do you think this is fair, or should a smoking ban be applied to everyone.

Because the casinos are on Indian Land they are regarded as a separate nation by the Government. I think it's unfair and the Casinos should have to abide by the laws of the state they are in. The people in that state voted in the no-smoking laws for a reason and the people are the customers of the casinos.

If your premise was right, the question would be, do you think its fair that a smoking ban should apply to any private business.
If anyone attempted apply such bans to casinos, the casinos would have the money to challange the ban in court and win--thereby rolling back all ban on state and municipal smoking bans in private businesses.
Otherwise, Why would not one casino anywhere in America be subjected at a time when every business in America already is subjected, or very soon is to be subjected.

You can't ban smoking from casinos, or whorehouses for that matter. Everybody knows the best time for a cigarette is after sex, and those are the only two places you are guaranteed to get SCREWED.

It was already mentioned. The casinos got their way because of the amount of revenue they generate for the state. I don't think it's fair, it should be banned everywhere.

probably because they are paying extra taxes.
or, the state sees how many jobs and money the casinos are bringing in to their state, and if smoking is banned, then most of their customers will leave....
i honestly don't know.

Casinos do not want to risk someone going outside for a smoke and then leaving.
If they can smoke inside, they will play constantly.

Beacuse of the tax revenues generated by these establishments.
They also have political power and contribute great sums of money to our political leaders. Its all about power and money.
