Morality is a "social belief system." What is moral in one country is laughed at in another as silly and useless. So, its whatever is considered "standard" for a belief in your society. This doesn't make it wrong and it sure doesn't make it right. Its just a guilt system, much like a "social conscience" to keep people "in-line."

Moral issues are those where people typically divide based on what they believe. Sometimes proof and reasoning has no effect to change peoples' minds. These often come up when there is not much proof on either side of the issue. People often argue based on fear and lack of understanding, not facts.

Great question.
I guess what makes it a moral question is because it is supposedly against God to be homosexual therefore, in turn, gay marriage is immoral.
Of course, I think that's all a bunch of baloney. :)
I don't think me wanting to marry my partner is immoral at all. It's an act of love and happiness and that makes me very proud.

People fear what they do not understand, if they are important enough and write down thier fears than all of thier followers will take that lack of understanding and fear as saying something is evil. What is is evil is not good. People with supposed "high morals" only do what is good and right, but they get they definition of good and right from writings and speeches of fear and lack of understanding.
