This question makes me smile.
When I was a senior in high school, I worked in a rectory for our local Catholic Church. My job was to answer the phone and to record the collection (not count it, record it).
Anyway, our favorite question was "What time is Midnight Mass?"
At that time, the last Mass on Christmas Eve was the Midnight Mass. So, the answer was "Midnight Mass begins at Midnight."
One of the priests said, "Be sure to tell them the floor show starts at 11:30." He was referring to the choir and congregational singing.
Now, our church has 2 services on Christmas Eve 4:30- is the Children's Mass and pageant. It's very cut- all the 5 and 6 year olds dressed up as shepherds, angels, wise men, etc.
The last Mass of the evening is no longer at Midnight, but at 10:30 pm called the Shepherd's Mass.
This is done for several reasons: 1) for safety - Father doesn't want his parishioners out in a dark parking lot after 1 a.m. and driving home in a snow storm is not safe. 2) the priests have many Masses to "say" and limiting the number of Masses and scheduling them for earlier times makes it easier not only on the priests, but also on the parishioners.
I hope this helps. It's probably more information than you needed....
Happy Holidays!

This depends completely on the Church.
I remember one Catholic Church that began it's celebrations the night before. I also remember one Anglican Congregation that started the day before. Some don't even celebrate Christmas eve. Depends entirely on the Church, how they interpret the New Testament and all the other stuff that came after the it.

At my church, we are having 9:30am Sunday School, and than we will have our 11:00am service. I'm in the choir, so I will be singing that Sunday.

Depends. Some have early service (7pm) for families with younger children, and some at midnight.

There are all kinds of times in our area, but we always go to midnight Mass. I feel it's the only "true" Christmas feeling Mass.
