I am terrified that there is going to be something wrong with the baby. IS this normal? I get worried that he or she will have a deformity or something else.

Honey, that is sooo normal. Your baby is going to be just fine I am sure. At around 16 weeks your doctor will probably do an ultrasound and at that point they will be able to tell the sex of the baby. I know when I had my 16 week ultrasound they said that I had a normal, healthy baby, and the whole time before that I worried if something was wrong with it. I worried after that ultrasound too...it is normal.

Every new mom has these thoughts running through their heads until the delivery. It is normal, but PLEASE make sure that you go regularly to your doctor visits. Have the ultrasounds, and the blood work also. No news is good news, and you need to make sure that you are healthy, then your baby will be healthy and happy. any type of abnormality is rare and if by chance your baby will have a type of abnormality, read up on it, be prepared and get the support you will need. Don't stress out. Enjoy the changes your body is going through and REST!! Good Luck :)

I am 28 weeks pregnant and I still worry everyday. I skipped the test they ask you do to check for Down Syndrome because my husband and I looked at it this way. God is going to give you what he wants too.. You can't prevent a deformity at all.(that's my opinion) It's just something that happens. But don't let it cause you to much stress, babe. Good luck with your pregnancy! Merry Christmas as well. :)

I believe it is completely normal. Most women worry incessantly during their pregnancies. I worried about everything in all three of my pregnancies. If the worrying and fears weigh very heavily on you, try to talk with someone... a good friend who's dealt with the same thing, a relative, or a professional.
Try to take time for yourself, and try to enjoy your pregnancy. The time passes by so quickly.

Oh, that's normal. I was convinced that every day of pregnancy was going to be my last- terrified that I was going to lose her.
Don't worry about being worried. Your scans will pick any problems up.

Pretty typical. You worry about miscarriage until 12 weeks then after that you worry about defects. Your 20 week ultrasound should put your mind at ease.

Yes, it's normal. Although I don't think very many moms to be discuss it. I've been concerned will all three pregnancies. I'm sure dads have concerns too, maybe even grandparents. Your baby will be beautiful and you'll love her/him no matter what. Trust me.
