They are trying to make a Global Stetement, and keep their names in the news. They don't give a crap about American orphans.

Actually, adopting an American child is way more expensive and with a lot more red tape than a foreign baby. Sad, but true. You can't adopt a child unless you are well off. If that were the case to have kids, none of us would. They need to lower the fees, cut the red tape and allow children normal lives. I'd adopt, but I don't make enough money to raise an adopted child......even though I raised my own on the same amount.........shame.

Maybe they are concerned that the orphans in foreign countries are not treated well. Maybe they are concerned that they will be forced to do hard labor even as children because they might not have the same policies as in the States. Its not status, its concern. They think that the children in American orphanages are treated better than ini foreign ones, so they want to adopt the foerign baby to get him out of a hard life, while they think that a American orphans life might be easier than the baby in a foreign country.

I wouldn't cite sitcoms as an authority, but adopting a white, healthy, American newborn is difficult and expensive. However, plenty of other babies and children in America are ready and waiting for adoption.
I wouldn't knock anyone for adopting a foriegn baby though. Plenty of those children are in dire situations in their home countries.

Soooooo... I didn't know that babies had trouble adapting to the US. But there is a higher adoption infancy rate in 3rd world countries if it helps?

My brother's girlfriend has a little brother that was adopted from China and they are getting a little girl in Febuary. I think that they are cute! I think that if they want to adopt, they can! I don't think that it is a status, but it is possible, now that you mention that, that they are trying to show that they have a lot of money.

I read it is actually a fashion trend to adopt foreign children. Personally, I think that is so sad when there is plenty of orphaned children who need a loving family here in the US.

I agree with you! I like that they adopt children, but why not American children?? We probably have starving kids who are in just as bad shape as some children in extoci locations.. Don't get me wrong.. its good and all that they are saving lives but why not satrt with America first then try helping the rest of the world? We have problems too...
