Word of advice - wait at least one year before trying to become pregnant after taking the deprovera shots. Higher risk for birth defects if you become pregnant right away.

I was on depo when my husband and I decided to try to conceive. After researching I found that it could take up to 18 months before becoming fertile again. So I did not get the next shot and went on with life not expecting much to change. I was pregnant 3 months later. So I think it is one of those situations where if you are ready go for it but if you aren't sure then hold off. There is no way to know how quickly your body will respond to not being on birth control.

It depends, everyone's body is different thats why there are so many pills and methods of contraception because different women react to different methods in different ways. I came off depo and was told it would take over a year to fall pregnant and within 6 months I was.

While each injection is totally effective for three months, the effects can last much longer than that--sometimes continuing for eight months or more. Therefore, it can be hard to tell when your fertility will resume, and your periods may be absent or irregular until you start ovulating again. Usually, a woman will be cycling normally 12 months after her last shot

Yeah, it all depends on how long you are on the shot. My doctor told me the longer you are on it, the longer it would take you to be able to get pregnant. I had one shot, never went back, and I was pregnant in 8-9 months.

Took me 18 months before we found out that the shot had stopped my body from ovulating. I had to take clomid to get pregnant

I'd like for you to learn to spell the word before you seriously consider becoming pregnant, but doctors tell you generally, a year.
