When I was in high school, I was a waitress. It is quick cash, and easy to do. Busing tables is good too, but not as much money in it! I worked at a hotel in the restaraunt so I did room services, and waited on tables. I NEVER left with out at least $100 on a weekend night. Mid-week is tough, but if you work the weekends, its worth it! Good luck to ya

Try getting into an office somewhere as a file clerk, that does stuff you are interested in....like graphic design, law, the list goes on. Then you can always move up. And if you attend any college classes a lot of the employers will help pay for your schooling if you maintain a B average. It you like that line of work, you gain experience and get "your foot in the door". Offices are more likely to hire someone full time if they know you and know your work ethic once you are out of school. Good luck!

If you can, I would try to find a job in the career field you are hoping to get into after school. For example, if you want to go into computers, you could work at a computer or software store...if you were going into health care or medicine, you could work in a hospital (even in the kitchen or housekeeping). If given the choice between fast food and retail, TAKE RETAIL.

Do retail at a place that gives an employee discount on their stuff. Electronics and clothings stores might. Don't work at a fast food place cuz you'll just get fatter, and you'll smell bad at the end of the day.

Chick-fi-la is excellent for high school students. They treat their employees well, and there are also great college benefits. If you just want a summer job, they will reserve your spot for when you come back next summer. You can start working at Chick-fi-la at 16.
I'm sure www.chickfila.com would have more information on it.
