I don't know I've heard some V6's sound like V8's, I think it would be the exhaust system, the cam and maybe the 2 more cylinders.

A six cylinder engine runs with a cylinder firing each a hundred and twenty tiers of crankshaft rotation. On an 8 cylinder engine, a cylinder is firing each ninety tiers crankshaft rotation. the respond i'm guessing you're in seek of is WHY the edition in sound. i'm able to easily say that is clinical, i assume. yet we are conditioned to have faith that a "V8 roar" is cool and muscular sounding, collectively as engines with much less type of cylinders are not. further, we are conditioned to elect that skinny females with huge breasts, and superb butts are alluring and horny, collectively as fats or overweight females are grotesque. i wish this explains it ultimate.
